Futureal Group, of which Cordia Romania is a member company, is taking steps to help achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), through the Group’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy. In fact, many of the pillars of the SDG are among Futureal Group’s core values, established over two decades ago, when Corvin Promenade, the largest city center regeneration project in Central Europe, was started in the heart of Budapest, Hungary.
Today, creating a healthy and human-centered environment, cultivating diversity and equality, providing clean water, supplying clean energy through innovative solutions, promoting sustainable growth and employment, focusing on sustainability from planning, supporting communities with energy efficient solutions, achieving sustainable development and creating partnerships for sustainable development are the main and most important values of Futureal Group and are implemented in all the projects the company develops.
Futureal Group’s portfolio of urban renewal comprises six projects: Corvin Promenade, South Buda City Center, Marina City in Budapest, Hungary; Modena and Wilanów in Poland and Hampton in Birmigham, United Kingdom. In figures, these projects mean over 110,000 sqm of green spaces, over 300,000 sqm of office space, 7,000 dwellings and over 150,000 sqm of retail developments.
What happens in Romania?
In Romania, Cordia is currently developing Parcului20, a 485-apartments, two-phases residential project in Expozitiei area in northern Bucharest. Residents started moving in the project’s first phase in March 2021 and the second phase will be completed later this year.
Parcului20 is developed in accordance with Cordia Group’s values, is energy efficient, the residents benefit from large green spaces, through the 3,000 sqm private garden, all the apartments are fitted with smart home systems, are efficiently partitioned, have underfloor heating and easy access to the public transport and road infrastructure.
„Parcului20, a residential project that changed for the better, through its architecture and facilities, the urban landscape in Expoziției area, improving the quality of life not only for its residents, but also for the local community, is just a small scale example of what we could accomplish from an urban regeneration perspective”, said Mauricio Mesa Gomez, Country Manager of Cordia Romania and Spain. „Cordia has a portfolio of land-plots in central-north and northern Bucharest which will allow us to develop 2,000 apartments on medium term. We have land-plots that are suitable for large scale urban regeneration and renewal projects, we hope to be able to start developing them in the near future.”
